Hi PC Guy,
The category 6E rooms are nice. They are called the family suites. The have floor to ceiling windows and a sitting area. This is the room we always stay in. There are 4 of us (2 adults/2 kids) and there is plenty of room. You basically have a king bed,(2 twins that are pushed together) 1 upper, and a pull out sofa. I think it is well worth the price for the extra room. This room also has a small fridge. By price comparison, this room is less than the suite but the real only difference is there isn't a balcony. Also, one other thing, it is on the spa deck and there are only 18 rooms there. The floor is nice and quiet most times. There is easy accesss to Camp Carnival as well.
We stayed in the Catagory 6E on the Triump, there were 2 adults and a teen girl (you know thats like have 2 extra people..lol). Some people who visited us that were staying in the 8A balconies said that our cabin was actually bigger than the regular balcony cabins. We had plenty of room.
Hello Cruise Specialist, that is what I thought. You are saying that the cat 6E is the size of a Cat8A+the balcony, except you have a sitting area where the baclony would be and floor to ceiling windows
Actually the sitting area was the sofa in the same area as the balcony cabins, but there was a table in front of the windows. The cabin was maybe 35sq. ft larger than the normal balconies because the space was used for the cabin.
We booked a Cat 6E room on the Glory for the Eastern Caribbean. My questions is that I have been told that the motion on the top decks is worse than in the middle of the ship. I was just wondering if it is that noticable on a large ship like the Glory.
Last time I was on the Glory, we were on the Upper Deck and we had no problem with motion.
TIA
We were on the Triumph out of Charleston during the time that Wilma or was it Rita? (October last year) was going on. We never felt any movement. We really enjoyed the fact that we could stand at our window and felt like we were on top of the world.
I hope someone can answer my question today. I'm thinking of booking an 8A room for almost $500 more than an oceanview room. What do you think? It's a family of 4 and it's our first time going on a cruise. The ship is the Triumph. Please forward your thoughts. I need to confirm this by tomorrow afternoon.
