First timer here who has yet to actually book but trying to plan and make sure all pieces of the puzzle are in place before I pull the trigger. Cruise looks like it will be the 5 Day Western Caribbean aboard Imagination in July 07. 5 days simply because it's our first and wife already afraid of getting sea sick so rather than her be trapped aboard a ship 7 days we're leaning towards the 5 day. There are several posts and question after question regarding alcohol so I'd like to ask one more.
Is it possible to have a bottle of champaign waiting on ice in our room to enjoy after we arrive or can I have one delivered to our room from room service? And if so what would you think the price would be? And I'm NOT talking Dom Perignon.
If you go to carnival.com and look at Gifts, then go to wines, you will see selections you can order and have waiting in your cabin. You can not complete purchase until you have an actual booking. You can bring your own bottle of wine with you and put it in the ice bucket in your cabin on arrival, it should be chilled before the ship departs. The gift price list should give you an ideal of wine prices on board. You have a nice selection each night at dinner. You pay a little more than at home. You can purchase the entire bottle and have it re-corked and served the next evening. The wine stewart visits each table the first night and then knows which tables to return to on future nights, they work on tips and know where to return to make their money.
Rest assured that you will enjoy the Imagination. Crew members of other Carnival ships told me there is a waiting list for them to get assigned to Imagination..one has been waiting 3 years! I can vouch for the crew and their service. Imagination was my 1st and 2nd Carnival cruise and although all Carnival trips have been great, the crew of Imagination surpassed them all. Seriously, if your wife is concerned about getting seasick, I'd bypass the champagne until she gets her sea legs! I am a seasoned drinker and champagne doesn't fare well with me at sea. Enjoy your cruise!

My husband took me on a 10 year wedding anniversay 10 years ago. It was our fist cruise. We did a four day. The seas in the caribbean are like glass. She shouldn't worry so much. Bring dramamine just in case. My husband ordered champagne as a surprise and it was in our room waiting for us, along with a red rose and a congratulatory notecard from the cruise line. It will go over nice with the wife.
There are no more wine stewards on Carnival. You order your wines from your waiter. Martini & Rossi Asti Spumanti is about $27.00. Strawberries are about $12.00 Check out the CCL website's bon voyage department.
