we have stayed in cat 11 and cat 12 on carnival and the only way you can really get a cat. 9A is double or triple pass. it will not let you book more then 3 per cabin on cat. 9A but you can get them if you book early enough, you just have to go into some of the travel sites, I recommend cruise411, travelocity and there are many others where you can go through the entire booking process to see if cabins are available without putting a deposit down just to see what is available, and then you can dicide weather you want to book it or not.

if they are all connected they can open balcony for you just let the the purser know once you get on board, they have a waiting list for their people to open the the dividers, we were about ten or eleven on list as they are very busy before they leave port, it took almost 8 hours before they got to us.

Catagory 6A's are ocean view, there are no balconies on these. You can check with your agent about upgrading and see what the additional charge would be. Otherwise, no need to worry about the balconies since you won't have any. Also, Carnival does not have adjoining cabins. Midship is always good, especially if you are prone to sea sickness. Have you already gotten your cabin assignments?

Cabin 6A's are the catagory of cabins you are in, as far as the cabin # it depends if you have assigned cabins or guarantee cabins. The numbers are usually ex: R1243 or M2247.
The catagory 6A's on this ship are on Riverea deck, 6b's on Main decks and 6E's are on Deck 10 Spa deck. I posted earlier that Carnival does not have adjoining cabins, that is on the older ships, the Destiny does have adjoining cabins so its according to your cabin number if you do. If you have a balcony they are usually catagory 8, 9, 11 or 12.

As far as the size not sure how to convert to meters but the size is around 185 sq. feet.

Your will have assigned dining based on whether you chose early or late seating. You will have an assigned table for dinner each night, ( I like this as you can eat with the same people each night) for breakfast and lunch it is open seating. Of course there are other options such as the 24 hour pizzaria, or the buffets for breakfast or lunch and also for dinner if you choose not to dine in the dining room. There is also an alternative dining option for a small fee if you prefer that. You will get your table assignment when you check in at the port.

Cabin 7214 is a catagory 11 suite on empress deck (deck 7), catagory 7230 and 7234 are 8B's balcony on empress deck also about 4 cabins down from the suite. They do not connect. Cabin 7230 has twin beds which cannot be converted to a king bed. They are midship and also close the elevator. This is a good location as you are between 2 passenger decks so you won't have to worry about noise coming from above you or below you.

Most all cabins on Carnival ships have 2 single (twin) beds which can be put together to make a King size bed. There are a few cabins which have twin beds which cannot be pushed together to make a king. One of the cabins you were offered is such.
