on the Triumph, you don't have to pay for any of the meals..however you will have to pay for any alcoholic beverages or soft drinks. Tea, water, coffee, etc. are included in the dining room or buffet areas. If you plan on drinking a lot of soft drinks, you might want to get one of those drink passes. I don't think the Triumph has one of the upscale "pay restaurants." You're going to have plenty of food to choose from for sure! I cannot recommend highly enough to eat your evening meal in the formal dining room. there are so many different types of foodsand they are all excellent! Try breakfast in the dining room too (eggs benedict). You can eat at a buffet anywhere!

No overkill at all. you should find out everything you can in advance since it is your first cruise.

You are not being nerdy! Everyone has to learn the in's and out's of cruising, and travel. I've probably asked some of the dumber questions, but that's what this site is all about! Information! Some of these people on here have been cruising for years, and the rest of us can learn alot from them. So...ask away!!

Oh yeah...I'm leaving 1 week after you on the Ecstasy! Have fun!!!

Speaking of food, Carnival has an excellent Midnight Mexican Buffet. I don't know what day they have it on - it varies from cruise to cruise. If you have a late seating dinner (8:00-8:30 pm), then you would be too full to enjoy it. On that day, you may want to eat earlier.

We had a midnight buffet on my 2nd trip of the Fascination, I could only look . I learned my lesson on the Victory, the food was amazing.
