We're going on the Conquest on March 23, 2003.We are also booked in 6A catagory cabin on Deck 1. Do you think they would upgrade us later when we go to board the ship even though we have a confirmed room?

if you have an assigned room you have no chance of upgrades,.

The last post that said that if you have an assigned room that you didnt have a chance of an upgrade is so untrue. Last two cruises that I have been on I have had assigned cabins and have gotten an upgrade both times. Call your travel agent and ask is the best way to get an upgrade.

When u book through a travel agent a chance for an upgrade is better than if you book directly w/ Carnival.

Also, people with assigned cabins have a slim chance of an upgrade.

I booked a family in a 9A addigned cabin, and about a two weeks before they left for the cruise they were upgraded to an 11 Suite. So there are chances of upgrading even if you have an assigned cabin. But don't book a cabin or guarantee on the basis that you hope to be upgraded, make sure that the cabin you picked you can live with.
