Anyone else going on Carnival Victory 11/19? This is my husband and my first cruise. We are excited but a little concerned after reading reviews. We still don't know if we should book our excursions now or wait. We do have a guarenteed room. I was really looking forward to eating a lot of really great food but the reviews haven't been too great regarding the quality of the food. I plan on bringing alcohol to save $$ as well as soda and water. Can you use a credit card for most things or should we bring a lot of cash? We don't normally travel with a lot of cash.

Any suggestions would be grately appreciated.

Congrats on your first cruise and don't rely too heavily on reviews. If you want to have a good time, you will! Carnival's food is as good as any competing cruise line and the atmosphere is really upbeat~! you won't need a lot of cash..when you check in they will take a card imprint and run a tab for the entire cruise, using your room key for charges AND ID getting on and off the ship. If you don't want to have open credit card, you can deposit cash for the card too. Enjoy! Victory is a great ship and your trip will be what you make of it!

Pamela,
I just got off of the Victory, and I can tell you that the food was fine. Don't worry about it!! (You can read my review of it. . .I think it's on the 2nd page of discussions on this board now.)

The crew is great. The people I had the most attitude problem with were the pursers, but since you will have little/nothing to do with them, don't worry about it. I had to deal with them because I had a group and we had a couple of glitches.

HAVE FUN!!

Chris
