Has anyone sailed the Cruise to Nowhere out of Norfolk,Va and if so, could you tell me if one of the 2 nights is a formal night? I've called the cruise line and have gotten a different answer each time!

Dress is resort casual on 2nt cruises. They don't expect people to bring formal wear for such a short cruise.

Even on the longer cruises, Formal isnt formal!
On the last 3 cruises I've been on, Formal night(which is something me and my wife look foward to) has No regulations. I've seen people in the dinning room with ripped t-shirts and raggedy shorts, which in turn gives me the feeling of being overdressed. On a 2 nighter, I'm sure anything goes.

I have never seen anything like that on Cruise Elegant night.

There were a few who showed up with shorts on for cruise elegant night on the Holiday last week. I didn't see any t-shirts. Those with "nice" shorts on were allowed to enter, but I also heard them turn somebody away at the door after we were seated (our table was directly behind the desk at the door to the dining room). I assume it was someone in a t-shirt and/or gym shorts trying to enter.

BTW, on the cruise casual nights Jim and I wore shorts!

Not sure about the shorter cruises, but if you really want to dress up on longer cruises, may I suggest you make reservations at the "upscale" restaraunt that almost all the ships have. You won't feel as self conscious and out of place (Wife had an evening dress, I wore a tux). I believe coat and tie are required. Not very many guests, so it's also rather intimate.

Dave, I am going to this time too, at least once. Of course I will wear some nice ones.
