Riveriara Deck

Looking at the Riviera deck....anyone been this low before....engine noise? Thanks for your input

Hi Sandylynn,

We have stayed on the Riviera deck on 5 different Carnival ships and never had a problem with noise. A matter of fact we are booked on the Riviera for our cruise next week.
We are never in our cabin except to sleep so why pay more for a higher deck.

If you can be midships you will be fine. The bow you can get wave "thumping" sounds and in the aft you can get vibration sounds when entering/leaving port. If you are schedule to be in port early you will most likely be rattled out of bed in the morning. ANY other time you have no issues with noise. Actually the Riviera deck can be quieter than decks closer to the Lido and Promenade deck due to noise sources there that happen all evening long.

i have been on the main (2nd) deck and had no problem. It only costs a little more and it was recommended to me. Just booked our second cruise and again got the Main deck. If you're really worried about it or a very light sleeper it might be worth it.

We book the riveria deck quite often. most are not problem but on the Dream in Sept we had a cabin at the front of the ship and the noise was terrible. We have never experience the amount of noise that we had on the Dream. we mentioned the noise at the dining table one night and even people on higher decks agreeded that the Dream was a noiseier then normal ship.
Get a mid ship room and I think you will be fine.
