going on the elation in oct want to know any suggestions on shore excursions anyone has done in st thomas this is one of our ports, also love to hear about the ship in general and experience of eastern caribbean cruise

We were on the Elation a few years ago and had a blast. I embarassed my husband by joining in the dance lines at dinner in the dining room. We were seated at a table for 8, the other 3 couples were really nice. We even ran into them on some of our excursions, so it was even more fun. In St. Thomas we either do a catamaran sail/snorkel to Buck Island or take the ferry to St. John and go to Trunk Bay for a beach snorkel. Trunk bay is a beautiful beach with crystal clear, warm water. There is a self-guided snorkel trail, fresh water showers, lockers, a couple of shops (not cheap), and a snack bar. Not sure what the rest of your intinerary is, but if you post your ports, I might be able to answer your excursion questions. Have a wonderful cruise!

To me the best part of San Juan is old San Juan. You can walk or take a tour of old San Juan. Also heard from other people that the botanical garden is a really nice tour. We haven't visited Grand Turk, we'll be going there in December. I'm planning on doing a snorkel there. Here's a website I've been looking at: http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com...nds/grandturk/ Half Moon Cay is their private island, so the beach is the way to go there. If y'all go snorkeling in Grand Turk, let me know how it was. Have a marvelous time!!

thanks penny3333 we are going to go on a snorkel tour in grand turk my husband said the water was beutiful when he served in the military over 30 years ago but all that was there then was the bases lighthouse and a few other things so i'll let you know after our trip
