We will be on the Fantasy on Halloween. Does anyone know if there is a costume party? If so, do people generally dress up mainly in full costumes or the simple decorative eye masks?
Yes, there is a costume party and contest. Not only are they full costumes, some are outrageous.
I've seen everything from full authentic looking KISS costumes, to Pinocchio with strings. The most outrageous one was "hemorrhoid guy". Last year we had a Pope.
We'll be on Fantasy for Halloween also! Last year we were on Holiday and overnight, the ship was decorated in full blown Halloween decor. Lots of great costumes too. I can only imagine there will be more on the Fantasy. See you onboard!

The Cast really get a kick out of halloween also. This is where you can get some really wild costumes.
Since you have cruised in Oct during Halloween, how is the weather and where did you go? We will be going to Cozumel. Is this a nice of time year to go as far as the weather?

The weather was great, except for Roatan last year. We got rained out. And Grand Cayman was canceled due to wind and waves from a storm. Cozumel and Belize are still very hot in my opinion. Carnival set up a refreshment table with cool water and ice tea at the tender dock at Belize.
The year before was Key West and Cozumel. Both were quite warm. I was actually surprised how hot it was on Key West for the end of October. I literally blew out my flip flop..like the Jimmy Buffet song from walking on the hot sidewalks.
As for Cozumel/Progreso, the weather should be great - unless a major storm develops of course! The gulf coast ports could be a bit breezy and cool, but nothing unbearable.
The only problem is if you visit right after a storm. Last year the water was still unsettled on Cozumel. So it wasn't a good day for beach snorkeling at Paradise Beach. The view, nachos, and Dos Equis' made up for it though.
