Bring Alcohol and Coke on board

I am leaving soon and wonder whats the rule for bring alcohol on board?? I drink wine but its the cheap kind its lambrussco and I really like it. Whats the rule?? I am going to with a few other girls and they wanted to know about bring coke on board?? CAN YOU?? Whats the different with checked luggage and what you leave at the port whats the difference I am confused?? Doesnt it all get checked? Well this is my graduation celebration and wanted to bring some wine and maybe some other stuff. Whats your opinion?? I have been on a cruise before and the drinks are very expensive. I just grad a few weeks ago and havent been out long to make good $$ so I need some help!! Thanks in advance!! PLease reply soon leaving in less then 20 days!! THANKS
