sassy I get sick on a merry- go- round. I mean I am the worst but the ships are so big and CCL has such great stabilizers it won't bother you at all. The plane and car movement is a good comparison. I have been on the NCL going out of San Francisco and that was the worst by rolling, but outside of staggering down the hall like a drunk and laughing so much it hurt I was fine. My first cruise I thought like you and was terrified, but I think you will be surprised at how easy it is.

Halve the 25mg Meclizine and take it before any motion starts seems to work. Without any drowsiness, at least for me. Then you can add if you get problems, at least you will have a base in your system.
I have only got that way a few times in rough seas on the smaller ships. Also the info desk will give it to you for free.
I am going to try the ginger and green apples as well. My Sis used some kind of wrist band and didn't have any problems. But the ship was not moving much anyway.
Sassy, I get a RX from my Dr. for the patch that you put behind your ear. You can wear each patch for 3 days. It is costly, but it does help.
I don't have to use it on every cruise, but I take it with me in case I need it.
I have also taken the Meclizine pills and I find they don't make me sleepy. Sometimes I have to take the Meclizine after I get home, it takes me a while to get my land legs. I LOVE CRUSING, even though I have a queezy stomach.
Have a Great Time.

Sassy, my wife and I are lucky not to suffer,we have friends that do, they were told to take ginger in any format, crystalised stem ginger, or ginger cordial helps alot, I really hope all the posts help because it really is rotten, regards Steve
The only problem with the Scopolamine Patch is that once it's on...IT'S ON! The med is in your system, and if you are getting side effects, there's not alot you can do about it. Meclizine is an 8 hour medicine. I advise taking it at night only because of the drowsiness. But be leary of the patch. It DOES work, it IS kinda pricey, and it also has side effects. To be honest, everything you put inb your body has side effects...don't believe me? Have a nice bowl of baked beans for lunch and then tell me about the side effect!!!
