How did it all work out Sassy? Did you write a report about your cruise?
I have to say I have tried the Dramamine, and prescription Meclizine ( I actually have Vertigo and that is what I have on hand at all times for that), I have tried the patch, and they all work but they all have side effects that are sometimes as bad as the motion sickness.
WHen I use the patch I get a horrid dry mouth and no matter how much I drink it doesnt matter.
I am scared though because I don't want to not take anything and end up sick as a dog.
I had heard about the ginger before but what kind of ginger? I imagine not the crushed spice I have in my spice cabinet lol.

It doesn't usually bother me, except with rough seas. If I feel it starting, I take half of a meclizine (non-prescription), it seems to help. Have heard about the ginger too. They have it in pill form in health food/vitamin stores.
I am thinking of giving it a try as well. I don't like the drowsy feeling of the meclizine I get sometimes.
I recently bought some Airborne for my up comming cruise, it has ginger listed as an ingredient for nausea. Will see if it works as a preventative measure, if not I will head to the desk for some free meclizine!
My wife swears by the ginger...we get it in capsule form over the counter at Wal-Mart in the vitamin/supplement section or at any health food store. It is actually a good daily supplement for digestive health. We take one daily with our other natural supplements (cinnamon, garlic, fish oil). Give it a try!
