Talent night

Hi - Quick question. I am going on the Legend 9/13. Have a friend who loves to sing. Want to know if they have a talent night or if they do the "Legends" thing from Karaoke people. Thanks!

I think they call it the Legends show but it is open to anyone who wishes to sign up for it. I don't know if they weed out anyone who THINKS they are good or if anyone who wishes to perform can do so.

I think they will take into consideration what the talent is, and how long the skit will be. They want a bit of a variety and have only about an hour to squeeze in as many acts as they can.

Yes, 7 day cruises like the Legend still have the "Legends Show". (confusing, I know)

There are 10 celebrities that they have to choose from.

They usually audition 3 or 4 a night.

The men are:
Garth Brooks - "Friends in Low Places"
Frank Sinatra - "My Way"
Elvis - "Jailhouse Rock and Houndog"
Ricky Martin - "Livin' LaVita Loca" (sp?)
Elton John - "Crocodile Rock"
James Brown - " I Feel Good"

The ladies are:
Aretha Franklin - RESPECT
Madonna - Like a Virgin
Britney Spears - Hit Me Baby One More Time
Gloria Estefan - Rhythm is Gonna Get You

These are the songs that you MUST sing in the show. You are allowed to borrow an MP3 and the words to learn the lyrics.

They do not perform the entire song...just a modified version.

You are provided with a full costume and given a dancer to guide you.

You are also given a DVD of the show and a group picture for free.


During the audition.....you sing for the audience at karaoke and you are selected by rounds of applause.

Be aware that the karaoke host is SUPPOSE to "monitor" the applause for "groups" so that someone who is horrible is not put in just because they had the most friends there.

Sometimes that still happens.

I have done 5 of them. They are a BLAST!!

In the beginning they would not allow men and women do the opposite sex roles...but they did on the Glory...so I guess that depends on the KH as well.

One other note:

The songs must be sung in the key on the MP#. There is no pitching it up or down...which can be a bummer for folks like me that are pitch dependent.

I can sing most songs....but due to limited range...they MUST be in the right key for me.

We still had fun!!
