on destiny -- dining rooms

Just wondering what are the differences in the two dining rooms on the Destiny? Can you choose to eat and either for dinner? Do they serve different styles of food/which is better? Also, is all the food included in the cost of the cruise? I know some drinks cost extra but what about food? is is clearly posted if/when it DOES cost money?

There is NO difference between the 2 dining rooms as far as service and menus. Carnival has gone to a staggered dining time, meaning that they have 2 main seating times (5:45 and 6:15) and 2 late seating times (8:00 and 8:30). You will be assigned a dining room based on which time you select to eat dinner. There is no charge for any food in either dining room or at the Sun & Sea Restaurant (the buffet/open seating). The only place you would have to pay for food is at the "Coffee Cafe" for their specialty coffees and pastries.

the dining rooms are sort of a split between ship the back rest. is for the back half of ship and the front rest for the bow. depend on what half your cabin is in, you can request to be moved to either rest. if you have friends and family dining in the other rest. you have to visit the matri'di the first chance you get and have you dining room change to dine with your friends and family I happen to prefer the rear of the ship as it has a great view, so check your sail and sign cards they will have you dinng room and time on them, you can change it, if you do it the first day or the next morning, but I personely would do it right away, and not wait as there will be most likely alot of changes, it always happens!! We have found that not always will you get the front dining room if you are in the front and visa versa. We were on the Carnival Triumph in October deck 11 fore..our dining room was deck 4 aft of ship....what made it so bad is there is not a straight walk to the dining room, we would have to go down to deck 5 cross the ship then go down to deck 4 at the back. It was a good thing we checked this out before our first dinner or we would have spent half the night trying to figure out how we were going to get to the dining room.

that is strange as I have done 5 carnivals and it seems we were always at the closest dining room close to our cabin, and had friends at front of ship and they wer in the front dinning room hummmm so maybe they have changed some policies or somthing

Nancy is correct. There are no differences between the two dining rooms. The menu's and selection are almost identical. I hope this helps.
