What are the prices for the bottled water and canned soft drinks that are supplied in the stateroom? I have always brought some and for the life of me, I can not remember the posted prices. Seems like they were high, but tired of lugging that extra weight! Thanks!
It is the same as the bar price for those items. The last time I looked, those would be $1.75 for a can of soda (plus 15%) and $2.25 for a half liter of water.
We just returned from the Sensation and the water was $3.50 a bottle. Canned drinks are $1.75, plus 15%. I used to carry water, but lugging it on the ship was a burden -- wasn't really saving that much anyway.
The prices look accurate to me as well. The last time I was on a ship was last November though. I ran out of the water that I had taken onboard and opened the 1.5 liter in the cabin. It was $3.50 plus the 15%.
I didn't know they had raised the canned soda prices from $1.50 to $1.75 though until I just checked. I don't drink that much soda, and they don't sell my preference, so I usually take a few 16oz. bottles in my backpack. It does get to be alot to lug!
Carnival has no house wines, but a variety of different labels. The price for a glass ranges from $5.25 to $8.25, not including the 15% tip automatically added.
The best deal for wine is to purchase a bottle at dinner. They will recork it and serve it the next evening until it is depleted. They do have some decent wines for $20-$28/bottle. The wine that I like is $6.95/glass or $22/bottle. The bottle is a better value. We purchase 2 bottles of water and then fill them with ship water the rest of the cruise. The ship's water is better than the bottled water.
I have to take water with me on excursions because I have a medical condition that makes me dehydrate faster then other people. we are flying in (we have always driven before) so I wont be able to bring my water with me this time. but someone said to bring empty water bottles and fill them up with the ships water, they said it is safe, so that is what I am going to do. we always bring a soft sided cooler to take with us on excursions.
Macmom111, the ship's water is great. The diningroom, or buffet areas have cold water. We use the water from our ice buckets, (melted ice) too. The buffets usually have a dispenser that flows nicely into a bottle or insulated cup.
