key west and nassau excursions for an 8 year old

i am taking my little brother on his first cruise in january. he is 8 years old. does anyone have any reccomendations for excursions in key west or nassau that he would enjoy. he does not want to snorkel b/c he is afraid of sharks and whales....lol. we are going in january on the celebration.

I would recommend the dolphin encounter in Nassau....comfortable boat ride to the "island", not many drunks present, and great sights in the harbor. If time permits, a quick visit to Atlantis to check out the aquarium would be cool for him. Key West is neat and full of history, but probably not in the eyes of an 8 year old. If no one else has any great suggestions, rent an electric car or scooter and sight see, checking out the beaches, etc.

I would agree with that advice about Atlantis aquarium, and the tour in Nassau. Key West is kinda an adult place, but like TN said is full of history. I would do the Conch Train tour, and/or a beach. Smather's beach is a public beach. Also, though I think is a bit overpriced is the Glass Bottom boat tour but would be very educational for an 8 year old, and a lifelong memory.

I will try to check out the current pricing to do it yourself and the under 12 price. It leaves just down the street from the Conch Train Station.

If you like key lime pie, go to the Blond Giraffe in Key West. It's about a block off of the main street (which you can take the trolly to) and they have the best key lime pie I've tasted.
