Excursions

A group of us are going on a cruise to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. What are best excursions? We are considering horseback riding in Grand Turk and the Swim with the Dolphins in Nassau. Has anyone done these? Also, there are private cabana rentals on half moon cay. Anyone have experience with these or recommend other excursions? Thanks,

We did this same cruise back in feb. We also did the horseback riding at grand turk and let me tell you, if you or anybody in your group has NO experience on a horse I would personally advise against it. the first half of the ride is calm and just trail riding but when they take you down to the beach and into the water, they make ALL the horses run and they bunch together-it gets a little hairy-the thing is-they don't even warn you that they are going to do this. Half moon is very nice-the beach is beautiful-cabanas are pretty cool but we didn't rent one , we just rented lounge chairs-nice place-carnival will do a beach barbacue for you that day-pretty awesome. Nassau is a whole other story-find a excursion on the ship that takes you away from the dock area. You'll see what I mean when you get there! The Atlantis is a cool place-look into it. Take a cab to the Atlantis Hotel and spend some time walking around...and the casino....it's a very nice way to spend some time....then of course there is the shopping near the ship..LOTS OF IT.....Have a great Cruise..

Hi Champ, welcome to Cruise-chat. We did a great snorkel in Grand Turk last December, we booked it through the ship. They stopped at 2 areas 1 for the coral and 1 for the fish. The water was crystal clear, the coral was beautiful and the fish were plentiful. Half Moon Cay is a private island, great beach day. By all means do a swim with the dolphins, it is the most awesome experience I've had. We did ours in Cozumel at Chankanaab Park. The dolphins are amazing creatures, they are so powerful, yet so gentle to humans. They really seem to enjoy interacting with you. We bought the video they took, and a couple of pictures. Be sure you do a swim and not an encounter. The swim allows you to be in the water with them. It's worth every cent. Atlantis is a fun way to spend time in Nassau as well, there is a public beach right next to it. Best wishes and have a wonderful time. I'll warn you now, cruising is addictive
