Another case of CWI (cruising while intoxicated). Any bets he had a personal stash of booze?

I don't think it really matters if it was personal or not, people like this are simply out of control and he could get hammered anywhere. How many times have you seen some fool stumbling back to the ship in a port?

Seems to me there should be a cheaper way of committing suicide then paying for a double occ. then jumping from the ship. You have to wonder what was going through his head. The obvious is "not much" but seriously.....and it wasn't like he was a early 20's something guy...

I hope they make him pay for the rescue effort and the time the Glory lost by staying around searching for him !!!!

I wonder if any passenger has ever sued another passenger who caused the ship to be delayed because of their actions? Assuming it could be done. In other words, it would be interesting to see the other passengers on this cruise sue this clown for messing up their vacations.

Who cares about expense when you won't be around to pay for it?

I didn't read that he was attempting suicide, drunks usually don't. What a nut case this guy is!

I guess it would depend on if you could find a legal team willing to take the case. Unfortunately, it would probably end of costing the cruise company money as well, since typically you name all possible defendents. In the case of the cruise lines, they would be the ones with the most money to pay out, therefore, would be named as well, probably in some bogus negligent capacity such as the railing not being high enough, serving the passenger after being intoxicated (however I agree it was probably smuggled hooch), etc. etc.

I agree cheffy...just spouting here....kinda like the guy who flew through the hotel window in downtown mpls. He wasn't trying to commit suicide either....and of course, he did live to tell about it.

Fortunately for them they will still make their port and most of this happened overnight. My thought is this clown is probably not worth suing and the effort to so this would be great. I am not even sure what type of law would apply to this. I should be able to sue the drunk who crashes his car on the freeway and causes me to miss my plane for a vacation but I have never heard of this either. I actually feel sorry for this guy that he is in such dire straits as to pull a stunt like this, but come on man, if you really wanted to kill your self there are more certain ways than jumping off a ship.
