On our first cruise, we had a large enough group to take a table for 8 without being seated with people we didn't know. If you have a small group of say 4...can you be seated by yourselves, or do you have to share your table with others? Not that we mind sitting with other people, but I have heard from others that they have gotten some unpleasant dinner companions.

You can request a table for four with the maitre d at the dinning room. You'll want to do that as soon as you get on the boat because there with probably be a line of people making changes as well. What ship are you sailing on? On the Miracle a lot of the seating is 4 person booths. I would assume that would be same with all the Spirit class ships. On the Inspiration it was dominated by large 8 person tables.

Make the request at the time you make your cruise booking. When you get on the ship check out your table number in the dining room to see if you got a table for four. If not, then check with the Maitre'd. On the first day of the cruise it will be posted in the daily bulletin where and at what time you can go talk to the Maitre'd about dining changes.

We are sailing on the Ecstasy, Nov. 27th...when we booked, we did tell them who we were traveling with, and what dinner time we wanted, but maybe we should be more specific. On our first cruise, we were lucky enough to get a table by the window also, but I have a feeling a table for 4 will be a booth. Am I right?
