Destiny Cat. 6E--newbie with ??s

Hello:
I am a new poster. We live in St. Thomas, VI and are taking our first cruise in Sept. I have searched this forum and did not see this question answered.

We will be travelling with our 2 year-old and have decided to book a 6E room. Windows but no balcony and presumably space.

Questions: The deck plan makes it look like there are only a few 6E rooms on that floor but near the Pools, Rest., Playroom and Spa. Is it going to be really loud and noisy on this deck? Also, is their noise transmission through rooms? we are considering taking the room next to the Spa for limited noise from other rooms. Is that a good idea or will the spa be even louder than the adjoining room?

I have not been on the Destiny but have sailed in a 6E on the Triumph on the Spa deck and it was about the quietest deck on the ship. We also had a balcony cabin on deck 10 on the Valor, the very end one closest to the outside entrance to the upper hot tub, and even on our balcony we never heard any outside noise. Even though the deck plans looks like its close to the hot tub and slide, you still have to go through outside door to get to them. I say go for it, you will enjoy being up their and its only a few steps down to the lido pool area. The 6E cabins are really great the windows are floor to ceiling and wall to wall. We loved it.

Petonza - I have not sailed on the Destiny, but I have sailed on the Glory in a 6E stateroom. We absolutely loved it. The room is the largest stateroom aside from a suite. I don't imagine that you should hear much from the pool. It looks like it is the slide pool only that is around you. On the Glory, Camp Carnival is right on top of the Spa Deck and we never heard the kids. However...the deck party...now we heard that and it was on the Lido deck, but I imagine anyone close will hear that and it is only one evening.

We didn't want to go for the balcony b/c we wouldn't be able to relax having nightmares that our daughter would somehow get out there. The 6E rooms look even bigger anyway.

Well Petonza

I have sail, during my honeymoon, in Carnival Destiny during 2005 (cabin 6232) in a balcony category not far under from the pools floor and personally I don’t recall any trouble with noise from the party or anything. Carnival Destiny was a great Cruise vacation really a FUN SHIP!!! so be prepared for that kind of thing you know Music, party and great buffets and I’m going back to carnival Destiny this summer for my anniversary since they have a new itinerary in St. Lucia and Antigua so I recommend it you will not regret it…

Actually I like to know a little bit of st. Thomas, I am From Puerto Rico, I have seen st. John, beautiful island but from St. Thomas I have only seen “coral world” can you recommend any place of interest in the bigger island?
