Good day! We are sailing on the liberty on February 25th, our second cruise ever! We will be travelling with our 7 year old. Are there evening shows that are family friendly? Are they clearly stated as such in the day's program guide? It is -40 celcius here right now with the wind chill, thinking of the Caribbean is the only thing keeping me sane right now! Thanks!
Penny, I'm in what feels like the black hole of North America right now--Winnipeg, Manitoba! I was born and raised in Southern California so it is especially hard to take!
There is no nudity. The costumes may be "skimpy." A g-string and tiny top, but no nudity. They do announce it, for people who may be offended. The adult comedy no holds barred. Not for children.
I'm a new member to the board and wonder about this subject on many lines. I hear that Carnival does have some adult-only shows. Other lines don't. If you are into that, that is fine. There is a time and a place for everything. On too many cruises I've gone to shows and been shocked by the language or topics because they were not billed as "adult" so many children were in the audience. I like MATURE entertainment but not filth. Singers and production shows don't have dirty shows. I guess it is during what they call "variety acts" where I have seen some bad, bad acts. I've even seen these acts off stage acting as bad as they talk on stage. Mostly in the bars. Aren't these people held accountable since they are representatives of the cruise lines? Any comments on entertainment on various lines?
Well, I guess it depends what you consider risque. I personally wouldn't have wanted my children to see the "family" shows we saw with all the bare-bottomed women on the Fantasy. Guess they were wearing more than most around the pool, but I didn't go sit by the pool and watch them dance either!
