Anchors Aweigh

I've heard Carnival will once again play Anchors Aweigh for Sail Away. This is in honor and tribute to the Navy's assistance with the Splendor. They used to play this years ago and I've always missed it. Not going to be bringing back the confetti though. Anyone remember that?

If you want to see confetti though, Carnival is planning a big confetti drop for New Year's Eve in Times Square.

Oh how I miss the days of confetti and streamers and bon voyage parties onboard with family and friends.

I do too! Leaning over the rails to wave to everyone while Anchors Aweigh was playing and the streamers and confetti flying.

At least they are bringing back one tradition.

I really loved hearing Anchors Aweigh, They did it for my first couple of cruises and then moved on to something else. But nothing beats a rousing military march and what better on sail away than the Navy's Anchors Aweigh. ( I am ex Navy so I may be biased)

On another note, My wife bought some on board credit with points from her FUN Points Master Card and when she completed the tranaction she was treated to the Ships Horn, just like on the comercials. It was cool

That is COOL! I have a big Carnival funnel for my desktop. I've been trying to find the wav file for the Carnival horn blast to use for an email alert.

Yea, I remember well when they would play the song and the emergency floor lighting would blink for sail away.
