Carnival Elation Has Propulsion Problem - Returning to Mobile
 

Reports say the Carnival Elation has experienced problems with it's propulsion plant and had to skip the port stop at Calica on the current voyage. The ship is expected to return to Mobile on schedule although the next voyage may be in jeopardy.

I wonder if it is the Azipods are acting up again.

I heard the problem is fixed now and she will embark on her regular itinerary. Still don't know exactly what the problem was. I know the Azipods have been pesky in the past.

For the trivia lovers; The Elation and Paradise are the only two ships in the Fantasy class that have Azipod Propulsion.

That's good news that the next cruise is not impacted. I loved the ship. I believe that she was also the first passenger ship to have Azipod propulsion.

Yes, the then MS Elation now Carnival Elation (Carnival renamed the ships) was the first passenger cruise ship to have Azipod propulsion. Most excellent trivia info. :D
