Ship Sizes

Is there somewhere in the forum that compares the classes of ships and their amenities? We were on the Legend and would like to do something bigger next time. We really like the Victory itinerary but not sure how the ship compares to the Legend. We like the Freedom itinerary also and I think it is larger than the Legend. Any other info and opinions on the Freedom vs. the Victory would be appreciated. Thanks!!

We have been on both of these ships, and we are booked on the Freedom again. I personally loved both ships, I do think the Victory is a little bit smaller but not anything you can really notice. The Freedoms Eastern itinerary is wonderful but the Victory's Southeren was also great!! If you go to the Carnival website you can compare the size of the ships. Hope this helps!!

Fantasy - 70,367 Gross Tonnage

Spirit - 88,500 Gross Tonnage

Destiny - 101,353 Gross Tonnage

Triumph and Victory - 101,509 Gross Tonnage

Conquest - 110,000 Gross Tonnage

Splendor - 113,000 Gross Tonnage

Dream - 130,000 Gross Tonnage


The Gross Tonnage is a measure of the enclosed space on the ship not of the actual weight in tons.

Nope, I didn't. I know the ships. It's easy when you've followed a cruise line since when they just had three ships. None of which they built.

More trivia; The Tropicale was the first purpose built Fun Ship for Carnival Cruise Lines. It was also the first ship to have the now famous Carnival Funnel.
