Does any one know anything about the Carnival Sensation?
My husband and I are taking our first cruise in April on the Sensation and I was wondering if anyone else has sailed on her and could tell me what it is like. Any special restaurants? Do they have a comedian show? We are staying in a balcony room - how roomy is it? Any special tips for this ship?

The Sensation has no specialty restaurants. Carnival usually has a comedy act on all their cruises. They often have an adults-only show late at night with the usual ribald topics and language.

The Sensation has undergone the full upgrades that the Fantasy-class ships have been doing, and it has the Waterworks pools and slides, plus the adult-only Serenity area.

Which category cabin do you have? The Sensation now has several categories with balconies. The original Fantasy design only had balconies for the suites.

Remember that Lobster and Prime Rib are free on Elegant Night....but on some of the ships without the Speciality Restaurant....Carnival allows you to have lobster any other night as well for a surcharge. ($18 I think?)

I don't know what category we are staying in but our cabin number is U194.

AFAIK, Carnival Sensation isn't part of the test of some of the steakhouse entrees in the main dining room for an extra charge.

It's a great ship and lots of fun. We are going again on Sept. 15 with some friends. The rooms are nice and the shows are great. If you like to party this is the ship. Lots of fun. The disco and rock and roll bar at the best.

Does anyone know about the casinos on the Sensation? Do they have video poker? Are they open all day/all night?

Yes, the ship has video poker. No, the casino isn't open all day and night. Hours will be posted in the daily Fun Times. The casino by law, will also be closed whenever you are in a port of call.
