I will be doing this cruise on Oct. 3 (If Uncle Sam will get me that check I am waiting for...)
You better go fast, as after October, Carnival will not be going to Calica any more.
Warning...do not let your first look at Calica shock you. The ship will dock and you will find yourself in the middle of a stone quarry. But, if you catch a cab you can get to Tulum and the other sights quickly! Plya Del Carman is a wonderful little city and a great place to go with nice beaches, and shops. Also, you will find prices much cheaper than Cozumel.
The Elation is without a doubt the Prettiest Ship I have been on (been on seven ships) and the wood grains give you a real feel for a traditional ship. The crew is wonderful and very friendly. Food is delicious.
Embarkation and debarkation are great. Do be aware that if you arrive after 12, the line will get long as there is only one road to the ship.
I did Progresso and Cozumel in February on Elation so I was on very recently.
I am still upset at Carnival leaving Mobile, so after October I might do some shopping around after being a loyal Carnie cruiser.
