Just got back from the Freedom, love this ship, this was our second time, the weather was wonderful, great food, and great service (even though we never really met our room steward), If anyone out there has the recipe for the mocha chocolate getaway I would like it, the most wonderful drink I have ever had, halfway through the cruise I had one and think I ended up drinking about ten of them, if you haven't tryed one you really need too!!:) Now to figure out what the next cruise will be!!!:)
Welcome back, bugcruiser! Sounds like you had a great time. I don't have the recipe for the moca chocolate getaway, but it sounds yummy! Have you tried a mudslide? You'll have to try one of those on your next cruise. What was your favorite port? Did you try the water slides? Can't wait to see what cruise you pick next:)
Penny, we did have a great time, I will have to try a mudslide next time. My favorite port is San Juan and we were scheduled to go there then they canceled it about three months ago I was bummed, but we really like Antigua, the snorkel and kayak excursion is wonderful and we have done this one twice because the people that run it make you feel like you are family, even got an e-mail from them thanking us for doing their excursion again so personal, you don't always find that, if we go back to Antigua we will do this same excusion again and I recommend it to anyone that is going to Antigua. We will probably do the Freedom again next year because it's the right dates for us and we enjoy the boat size. Of course now I will have to wait another whole year, bummer!!:)
I know what you mean, it seems like FOREVER for your cruise to get there and then in a blink of the eye, it's over. However, planning and anticipation are fun, too! The last time we went to Antigua we negotiated with a driver, outside of the terminal. He took us all over the island, then to a nice beach with a bar/restaurant. It was a wonderful day and he only charged us $25/pp. He even stopped to help a stranded bus, which was fun. He told us that he was the island's mechanic and they all would come to him for help.
I don't know of any island I don't like in the Caribbean. San Juan is so much fun! Next time I'm in Antigua, I'll try your snorkel/kayak excursion. That sounds right up my alley. I love to snorkel. The first time in Antigua we did a snorkel and you couldn't swim for all the jellyfish. Might have been the wrong time of the year, I don't know. It was in October.
