Carnival Dream beverage/alcohol card?
Hi everyone! I think I already know the answer to this question, but someone told my husband that you could purchase a card onboard for alcoholic beverages....just wondering if this was true.
Thanks for the info!:)

Welcome to CruiseReviews!

Some ships did have a card that could be purchased for a certain amount of alcoholic drink purchases. To the best of my knowledge it was discontinued a few years ago.

Welcome Aboard,

A few other cruise lines are experimenting with some options...
such as all the beer you can drink for $30 a day
all you can drink fo r$40 a day

John Heald says that Carnival is looking into a program like this,
but nothing is in place yet

But, it could come in a few months...

jensbeencruisen----- You might consider visiting the Carnival Gifts area of the Carnival Website...You can purchase drink coupons for alchoholic beverages in 4 coupon packets for approx. $23US in advance of your cruise. Each coupon is worth $5.75 toward a beverage. Most basic drinks and glasses of House wine are covered! If ordering a more expensive drink or wine the $5.75 is deducted. When using the coupons it is customary to give the Bartender or the Waitress a $1 cash tip for each coupon used. The coupons must be purchased in advance of the cruise (They are not available for sale during the cruise)and will be delivered to you at Your table in your assigned dining room by the Maitre De!!

Bon Voyage,

I buy those too as just something I can pre-pay. Billy is right that they will deliver them the first night at dinner in the MDR. If you don't go to the Main Dining Room the first night, you can just go by there when they are open and the host/hostess will get them for you and you sign for them. If you get them as a gift from Carnival/Ocean Players Club, or someone sends them to you it works the same.

I think I know what JENSBEENCRUISIN's husband was talking about. It was a card that could be purchased on-board for 5 DOD's (Drink of the Day). It equaled to about a 20% savings if I recall correctly. They would punch the card after each use.
