A friend on mine has just told me about this great deal his son has received about a "Free" three day cruise on a Brand New Carnival Ship as a promo deal, sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. I seem to remember hearing about this type of "scam" deal before, but I have been known to be wrong in the past. Has anyone else heard about these offers, and their validity? Don't want my friend to get the wrong impression of crusing, on any cruise line.
I've never heard of a valid "free" cruise on any ship, much less a new ship on any cruise line, including Carnival. I'd suggest your friend's scam antennae be fully extended.
Ditto what Sandy said. Carnival currently has two ships sailing out of Ft Lauderdale. The CCL Miracle 2004, and CCL Freedom 2007. Not exactly "Brand New". Run Forrest Run. Always be suspicious of any vacation offer cruise or land, that says "free".
Does it say Carnival Cruise lines ship? Or just Carnival Ship... I picture a ship crewed entirely by carnival roadies that has a ferris wheel and a merry-go-round and an entire deck dedicated to games of chance you can't possibly win (although most real cruise ships have that... its called the casino )

I have heard of this before...many times. Sometimes it is a Carnival Ship and other times is was on a ship owned by Celebration Cruises.
It is often offered by "Carribean Cruises" and given away for various reasons, including buying a new car or other purchaes, and sometimes just a call in number.
You will pay $10 per day for gratuities...and Port fees (around $118 each) and then they will try to upsell you to oceanview room..etc.
It may not be a scam...but in the end you may pay as much or more than just booking a three day cruise with Carnival.
This would seem to be the same company that used to be Imperial Majesty.
This does sound like Caribbean Cruise Lines. They do a 3 day 2 night cruise to Freeport. My son and his girl friend went on this last year and did not like it at all. He has been on a few different cruises with us on Carnivail and RCL and said that this did not even come close to the quality of these cruise lines. They paid $118 and said that they wished they would have paid a little more and sailed on a "real cruise line". They said the food was barley eatable and that they would never do this again. Sometimes if a deal sounds too good to be true, it is not really a deal.
