Xelha

Hey Gang,

I was just speaking with a friend of mine who recommended taking a day trip to Xelha while we are in port in Calica. Has anyone heard of this? If so, is it worth it, or should I do something else.

Any advice would be helpful.

The snorkeling there is fabulous. They've added more water attractions since I was there, but it's one place I will never forget. We did a half day Tulum and half day Xel-ha. I wish it had been an all day Xel-ha. Don't get me wrong, the ruins were fabulous, too. But I love snorkeling.

I have been to Xel-ha numerous times and it's still my favorite place in this part of Mexico. In my opinion, you should go for a whole day. It's a magical place !

So there is no problem with just getting of the ship in port and taking a taxi to Xelha? Would there be any problem finding a taxi back?

Penny...I had no idea you loved snorkeling (just kidding, of course)!

When I went, we took a ship excursion. However, there were plenty of cabs lined up when we got back on the bus. Only 19 more days, how exciting!

Thanks Penny. Actually, it is only fifteen days left. The nineteen days is for the second leg of the back-to-back!

So when we get to town and take a taxi...do we just say we want to go to Xelha or do we ask for something specific? Is there just one all inclusive place or are there other choices?
