Went on the Valor in May...great time as always but I am a little confused about one thing when it comes to the casino. Initially I put 350.00 CASH....on my Sign & Sail card....when I wanted to get $50.00 cash to play the tables....they want 3%....R THEY KIDDING? IT WASN'T LIKE IT WAS ON MY CREDIT CARD....THIS WAS CASH I PUT DOWN WHEN I GOT ON THE SHIP!!!???

Your frustration is certainly justified, but there is a simple way around it. Using your "sign and sail" card, create a casino "bank account" on one of the slot machines. You can then transfer money from the S&S to your player account at any slot machine. Anytime you wish to cash out funds, just go to the casino cage. Most of the time, there is a special promotion where the 3% is not charged when using a slot machine.

Hope this helps.

The 3% is not a credit card fee, its what the casino charges for a cash advance. Carnival does not have any involvement in it as the Casinos are run but an outside company.

TNcruiseman has the correct answer here. It's even better if you were to have your sign and sail card backed with a credit card, you can still get the cash advance using the slot machines AND the money would show up as a purchase from Carnival with the rest of your sign and sail balance and you would not be hit with cash advance fees from your credit card (or the funky way they pay off cash advance balances versus purchases balances...)

I wish you would have asked how this works before you cruised, we could have saved you some grief (as this is a "trick" experienced cruisers know)
