Default Carnival Miracle - St. Maarten, Kitts & Lucia
We got back a few weeks ago from this awesome cruise. Let me know if anyone has any questions about the ship or the islands. This was our second cruise - first one was out of Tampa, FL on the Legend. We really liked the atmosphere of the Miracle - the ship, the crew and the cruisers were great and lots of fun! We left from Fort Lauderdale and the seas were ROUGH. I talked to people who had been on 10 or more cruises that said it was the roughest they had been on. Very windy! But we made it through without any problems so now I know I can handle it. It was a great time - can't wait to go again.

Van Beach,
I was on a cruise December 1-4 and it was indeed very windy. A bit unusual from other times I've sailed in the first week of December.

We are planning on cruising sometime this year or next year. What are the best times to cruise in terms of weather?

Welcome back, VanBeach, did you do the TikiHut in St. Maarten? What was your favorite port? When is your next cruise? Can't wait to see what you select.

Wendy, the weather is a toss up, it can be beautiful one day and not so great the next. We've done the Caribbean in every month of the year and have had good luck with the weather. We did a Christmas/New Year's cruise a few years ago and it was the roughest and coldest weather leaving that we've encountered. However, after 3 days, it was beautiful. We've had great luck, otherwise.

Both of the cruises we took were the first week of December. We had great weather both times. We did have a few thunderstorms this last trip but they were during the night.

This is what we did on the Miracle trip:
St. Lucia - zip lining - it was fun. I wish we would have explored the island more. Even the gal running the zip lining told me we should have done something else. The port was not one of my favorites - I would definitely do an excursion on this island because the shopping area is really run down - at least where we were ported.

St. Maarten - we just walked around and shopped. Very neat area.

St. Kitts - by far my favorite island! It is beautiful! We went kayaking along the beach - very nice. And the port is really neat.

Have fun!
