Default Prices double in 2 years?!?
Would like to book another cruise around first part of Sept. of this year. Comparing to my first cruise in 2010 from New Orleans, 5 day, Western Caribbean, balcony, on the Triumph for $460 per person. Same cruise in September 2012 only out of Triumph's new port, Galvaston is $900 to $1000!! Also checked same cruise out of New Orleans on the Elation, but has no balcony cabins, so suites were $1200 +/- and Oceanview was $800+/-. Is the doubling in price caused by the Fuel Increase you think?

I just looked at the Carnival website and it shows comparable prices to your 2010 cruise for the September 2012 five night sailings. $439 to $509 per person for balconies depending on the date.

You said you paid $460 per person in 2010.

I also am not seeing prices that high. The prices you're quoting sound more like a total for two people rather than per person. In reality the fuel hasn't had an impact yet on the cruises. The lack of balconies on the Elation compared to the Triumph, does drive the few they do have to be higher due to supply and demand.

Ok! You guys are correct as usual. Duh, I was entering 1 traveler and doubling the price they showed because I knew the pricing was based on double occupancy, but that was already calculated. Might plan that getaway afterall. Thanks awesome moderators. I usually don't get along with moderators.
