What Jim said about the cruise line shuttle is exactly what happened to me a couple years back. I was off the Sovereign Of The Seas at a little past 7am and the first person in the bus. I was excited because this meant I might be able to rebook an earlier flight instead of waiting to my scheduled 4pm flight out of Orlando. Instead I sat on that bus for over an hour while it slowly filled up, and I got to spend the day cooling my heels at the airport.
We continue to use SAS shuttle from FLL to the Miami Cruiseport. Their rate is usually $15/pp each way. They are fast, courteous and efficient.A wait of more than 10 minutes is the exception...provided you have made reservations in advance.
Bon Voyage,

Reason: typo
You can get a car service for cheaper than Carnival shuttle service. Check out limos dot com. We were able to book a lincoln town car for $72. Now we can even stop off for wine and bottled water before we get to the ship

We always cab it from an airport to the cruise terminal....not sure of the price from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami....but we always have 4 people...we simply get a taxi van to avoid 2 cabs! Prob. cheaper than 2 cabs
