On 8/3/10, our first day at sea, we ended up being "boarded" by the Coast Guard for several hours. The letter under our door said they were questioning several people on a security issue. Anyone have any info on what happened?

Hi ER nurse, Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

I personally haven't heard anything about it. Glad to know they are on top these type of things. I have the highest respect for the USCG.

Sounds like it involved a security issue that required further investigation.

we were on the celebration several yrs ago after we docked back in Jacksonville we were boarded by ATF agents, with dogs and guns. they took this guy out that was about 3 cabins from us (we never saw him the whole cruise) in handcuffs. and they also brought a suitcase out too.
I never heard anything about that either.

Not to go off topic, but every time I cruise from JAX something is up with security. The last time on the Fascination they wouldn't let us drop our luggage in the front. Had to park and wait for golf cart valets to take us and the luggage to the terminal. They said it was a security issue. On the Celebration they brought dogs on board during debarkation. I remember it well because I reached down to pet what looked to be a black Lab, and the agent told me not to touch the dog. Could be just coincidences, I dunno.

macmom, now I'm wondering if we were on the same cruise on the Celebration. I was on 10/23/2004.
