Are there any suggestions out there on what to do/see at these ports and on board ? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We just sailed on the Triumph in January.
A very nice size ship. We have been to Progresso and Cozumel MANY times.
Progresso is basically an uncommercialized Mexican. The "beach" is not as nice as other places...but ok. You do not have to take a ship excursion to do a day at the beach. Just ride the FREE bus into town...walk to the corner of the market, turn left....and about 3 blocks is the beach.
The double decker bus is $2 a person (of course they ask for tips) and is about a 20 minute tour around the little town...
If you are into ruins, I understand there are some good ones there....but I would do that through the ship.
Cozumel...another safe port. Lots to do...
if you want a day at the beach, again a ship tour is not required. We always go to Paradise Beach. No entrance fee, no charge for their chairs, tables, or umbrellas. Clean restrooms and changing rooms and outdoor shower even internet at the bar... all free. All they ask is that you eat/drink while you are there.
If you want to do the "activities" (non-motorized water toys like snorkel and kayaking etc) it is $11 for the wristband. But that is OPTIONAL. (our boys always get it to play on the water toys...hubby and I do not).
A taxi from the port into town will be $7 one way for up to 4 people. A taxi to any beach resort will be about $15 one way for up to 4 people.
Make sure you keep you watch on SHIP time since that is the time the ship will sail. IGNORE the clocks in port...
Have a great cruise...
