Smile Longer Cruises From Galveston?????
Carnival appears to be planning some 10 and 11 day cruises out of Galveston in the near future. The cruises are likely going to be adding Bonaire as a port of call and will end in San Juan on the Eastward journey thence return to Galveston on the Westward voyage.

I got that press release but never posted it. Here is the full story from my friend Gene Sloan at USA Today.

It would be a nice 21 day back-to-back cruise too!

I just got the e-mail about the Freedom. Carnival is making Galveston into a major cruise port! Freedom will also be getting the full Funship 2.0 treatment although some things will be completed after the ship starts sailing, meaning construction inconveniences with a ship load of guests.

Edit: here is the press release. That's a lot of stuff to be finishing while the ship is doing scheduled cruises.

That is why we booked a good month and a half after the dry dock. I wanted to be sure it was finished. But yes, Carnival is really investing in the Galveston market. And it seems to be rewarding them.

I'd love to do the repositioning cruise from FLL to Galveston, that looks really fun! Why do they always do these when I can't cruise!

That is a nice itinerary. I can't go either. We have the Rock Legends cruise next February.

The new shows are now about to take place on Carnival Freedom
80s Pop to Max is hits from the 1980s
Heart of Soul features songs from Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder & others
Getaway Island has songs from Beach Boys, Bob Marley and others
The Rock & Roll Piano show is the other show
These shows are only about 30 minutes & it seems Carnival would like passengers to pick and choose a variety of entertainment each night.
