Carnival reports the Mahogany Bay cruise center is progressing on schedule. The first ship scheduled to use the new facility is the Carnival Legend, November 19. This should be good news for Carnival cruisers.
I didn't think about that, Dave. On Costa, they used their own lifeboats for tenders. I'm glad they're getting a good facility there, it's a great port, as long as they can keep their people from organizing a coup.
We've done both there - private tenders and the ship's tenders. There are several private operators. But the place really needed a pier. Now I wish Grand Cayman would get off their butts and build one.
Boy do I need to pay more attention! I was thinking Belize and not Roatan. Roatan has a pier but only for one ship. The Mahogany Bay project will increase dock space at Roatan. Belize is still building their piers too, but it may not be ready until next year.
Oh well.... I would love to not have to tender, but I can live with it assuming the whole arresting of their President thing does not keep us from going there

Dave Belize getting piers ? I thought they tendered in at Belize because of the shallow water. I know when we left Belize on the Elation a few years ago, I saw the mud being stirred up when we left.
