Just got back from our Carnival Elation Cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Ensanada. We really didn't expect much from an older ship but the Elation was beautiful and very clean. We had a fantastic cruise. The food was very good, the shows were ok, and I won at the casino's. We stayed in a Cat. 12 Suite that was very nice. The staff was incredible. My only complaint would be the cruise director "wheezie". She was terrible but we still enjoyed our cruise. For a smaller ship, we didn't have any problems with motion sickness which surprised me. Overall, I would recommend this ship to anyone. Had an awesome vacation and as an added bonus, we spent 3 days in Hollywood and ended up seeing Dr. Phil at his house and John
Hurley in the broadway show "Spamalot". First time in the West Coast and absolutely loved it.

So glad you had a fantastic cruise, and thanks for this report about the Elation. Congrats on winning in the casino! I'd love to go on this cruise some day, I've never cruised from the west coast. The Hollywood visit would top it off for me too. I'm not familiar with "wheezie", I've had a few bad ones before though. How did the VIP check-in go?
Welcome back Luv2Cruise2007, sounds like you had a fantastic time! What did you do in Ensenada? Haven't been too many good reports from that port, but would love to hear how you spent your time there. Were they filming the Dr. Phil show at his home or were you on a tour of the homes? Spamalot sounds like a hoot. So where are you off to next? Booking another cruise always helps ease the pain of coming back to reality Thank you so much for taking time to post a great review! AND congratulations for winning in the casino
We didn't do much in Ensanada. We just walked downtown and shopped. We were in Cabo San Lucas a few days earlier and I wasn't expecting much out of Ensanada. It was nice to see but I have no desire to ever go back. We were on a tour of the LA area when we saw Dr. Phil. Spamalot with John Hurley was a hoot. Very funny and at a beautiful theater in downtown LA. We havn't book our next cruise yet but would love to go on the Oasis of the Seas. This was our first cruise out of the West Coast and really do prefer leaving out of Florida although San Diego was absolutely beautiful. It was actually chilly when we left on Monday. The VIP boarding was nice. We were one of the first families on and off of the ship. Other than that, the VIP status didn't mean much. We did enjoy the Cat 12 suite though. It was very nice. Well I gotta go sort through my pictures. We took about 2000 photos in 9 days. I love vacations!!!
