We are new to cruising and I do not know how the dinner seating works. We are going with another couple so what do we need to do in order to sit at the same table? Thanks.

Have whomever booked your cruises cross reference them for dining.

Make sure your TA or PVP have your cabins "linked"...this should insure that all of you are assigned to the same table.

Just in case even after you ask for the bookings to be cross referenced you are not seated together when you board - Go to the dining room ASAP and see the Maitre'D or the Head Waiter and ask to be seated together. Your dining room table number will be on your Sail&Sign card. Take the other couple with you when you go. They will usually accommodate you if at all possible.

Van Beach,
Just to avoid any confusion, Linked and Cross referenced are the same thing. Even if each of you booked through different TA's or PVP's your bookings can be cross referenced. Once they are cross referenced the Maitre'd will see you are traveling together when he makes up the seating charts. As Island Cruz mentioned though, if for some reason you don't get the same dining table then you need to see the Maitre'd right away when you get on the ship.

The reason I mentioned the just in case scenario is because my some of my cruise friends got some deal where they worked to book with an online agency. We wanted to sit together at dinner so I told them to tell their online TA and gave them my booking number. They said they were told it was all "okay". It wasn't and we had to get it fixed on board.
