The new balconies and new waterworks look amazing. She looks all shiny and new again from the outside. She was in bad need of a paint job. The funnel was looking sad. I see the crew got a jump start on painting some of it before the dry dock. It always amazes me how much major renovation they can do in such a relatively short time.
I see they finished the renaming signage process and changed the big "Ecstasy" name facing outward to the smaller "Carnival Ecstasy". They also included it in the bow name on the red line. Before they had just painted on "Carnival" with smaller letters above it.
Another "Evolutionized" ship. They are way behind though with the original time schedule. In all fairness, times did turn rough after the completion time frame was announced. I'd rather them get it done slowly than not at all.
Great pictures! Wish I knew which Princess ship that was. How do you make a balcony where there was one? Simple, add a few blocks. Did they have to cut those sections out and weld the new ones in or just weld the balcony structures on? She lost her sleek lines, but she looks great!
The ship's lines have changed, nothing too dramatic as say stacking a bunch of cabins on a forward deck.
The new aft balconies shouldn't get much funnel ash I would think. They'll have some shade though depending on the ship's position and the time of day obviously.
I hope the first bend in the new Waterworks tube slide never comes loose. What a way to exit a ship that would be!
I think the ship looks altogether differant!! What a change. Are the other ships in this class due for the same refurb?
All of the Fantasy Class ships will eventually get the Evolutions of Fun refurbishments with the Waterworks, Resort Style pool, and Adult Serenity area. I'm not certain about the new balconies yet, I have a hunch they will eventually. Cruise Fanatic is correct about them adding them to the Fascination with the next Dry dock Jan 4, 2010.
