My wife and I are 1st time cruisers. We have booked for 7 day on Valor but considering switching to 6 day on Freedom. First is this hard to do ? and 2nd (understanding one less day and Port) -BUT any reccomendations out there which Cruise would be better for a couple of 50 plus new cruisers like us??
Hi Dlang, welcome to Cruise-Chat! We just completed a 7 day western on the Valor and had a great time. I am in my 50s. Not sure why you want to change your booking, but I can tell you the Valor's itinerary was a ball. We went to Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. They're all wonderful ports with great snorkeling, especially Roatan and Belize. The Valor is a very nice ship, great crew, very clean, easy to navigate, and great food. I have not had the pleasure of sailing the Freedom, but I'm sure it's every bit as nice.
The best thing about cruising is you can do as much or as little as you please. There were wonderful events planned each and every day and I couldn't fit everything in. I'd come back from port and have to get ready to keep going during the evening. We had a wonderful waiter in the dining room, our cabin steward was so efficient and nice, I cried when they sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane" in the dining room on the last night.
If there's anything we can help with, please let us know.
At this point within final payment, you would have penalties involved in a cancel and rebook. Occasionally, they might waive it since you would be rebooking on another ship.
You'll have as much fun on the Valor as you would on the Freedom. Personally I like the Valor's ports better. Like Cruise Fanatic pointed out, you may be charged a penalty for switching at such a late date... I wouldn't switch unless for some reason you just CAN'T be gone for 7 days.
