I forgot to ask. From reading your blog it sounds like we'll have a great time on Elation. I already really like Mobile cruise port. It's easy to get into and out of and reasonable priced and very safe.
I saw your picture. So on cruise elegant night, does anyone still wear a tux or is it mostly just suit and tie or dress up. We usually dress up for dinner anyway.
Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Anything else new and nice on CCL?
I wore a suit and was one of the most dressed-up people there. Most wore sports jacket and tie, or just slacks and button down shirt - all are in compliance with the Cruise Elegant dress code.
A handful of tuxes at most. Remember, it has a lot to do with the demographics. Not too many tuxedo wearers in the rural south.
We have seen less tuxedo worn now then ever.. People are there for a cruise not a prom.. I wear a suit and tie and 1 time we just skipped the whole thing....
I'd love to see my hubby in a tux, I'm sure he'd look handsome. However, I am so thankful to see him in a jacket and tie. He doesn't like doing it, but it sure is a pleasant change of scenery.
While I didn't see many tuxedos on Carnival Elation a few weeks ago, I did notice quite a few women in long dresses on formal nights. Still, I wore cocktail dresses both formal nights and was in the majority. For the ladies, I think it's more important to bring comfortable shoes.
Well, there was that one guy with the baby blue "sort of" tux. It looked more like something Benjamin Franklin's tailor made, but not entirely. It did include a Seinfeld puffy shirt.
That sounds like my Prom tux, except it was brown with a yellow shirt.
I might wear a tux if it was an inaugural cruise and a special occasion. It's usually dress slacks and shirt, tie, and a nice jacket for me. I usually wear my laid back island wear and baseball cap around the ship. It's pretty neat when I walk out of the cabin dressed up and hair gelled, and the steward says wow!
