Just finished up an eight day to Cozumel, Costa Rica, Panama.
The Freedom was FANTASTIC!!
Suite was on seven and wonderful. Room stewards were the best ever. Very attentive.
Posh Dining Room was for the most part great. The food was good, but the staff seemed to be a little off their game. Service was slow at times. The biggest intrusion at dinner was every night there were pictures taken at the table. Too much for my liking.
Cozumel, Playa Mia Beach was fantastic as always.
Costa Rica, Whitewater Rafting is a must do. Can't describe how much fun it was. Our group had a great time and can't wait to do another. Meal with native food was provided and was outstanding.
Panama, Did the Panama City tour and this was the low point. So much poverty it was depressing. Tour was 8.5 hrs and seemed longer. If I had to do over we would have done the Gatun Locks on the canal. We spent a little time here and it was very interesting.
Side note. After leaving Panama the sea was so rough the crew was getting sick. Seas must have been 12-15 feet.
Overall it was a nice cruise to some ports I had never been.

Tonic water is good for calming queasiness in choppy seas. I like to flavor mine with a shot of gin and a lime slice.
They really got sick in 12-15 foot seas?? For people used to being at sea that isn't very heavy, especially since the Freedom Of The Seas is considered to be a very seaworthy vessel.
Dave, There were several crew members who had only been onboard for a couple weeks. My guess is the Freedom crew had just started a new tour.
macmom, I think you will enjoy it. The ports of Limon and Colon are freight ports and not shopping ports. Not the norm, but still interesting.

mac91360- Thank you for the great feedback - We are booked on the CCL Freedom for Jan 2010 to do the same cruise. The Canal tour is on Our list of tours...It has been a few years since I was down in the region.....I was not impressed with Pananma City, Panama way back when.....doesn't sound like much has changed!!
I 've found I prefer cruising that region in the Jan-Mar, timeframe....It is a bit more comfortable climate wise!! Welcome Back!!
