I hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot by going too fast with this. The majority of cruise revenue is from onboard purchases. If I'm on a super tight budget because of the cruise rate, I'll likely spend less on the ship. I know my casino allowance will be less.

Not to worry, you can stay in your cabin and surf the net with your new laptop No wait, you already spent your "extra money" on the rate increases. Can not do that either.
I didn't spend all that much on the netbook. I shop for bargains. I will be saving every penny now though for the cruise. I always blow more in the casino and on drinks than the cruise fare.
And wait when not if they kick in the fuel supplement charge! oil is at $86.00 per barrel now. When it hits $95.00 one will add it,then they all will. We have seen the last of the "cheaper" cruise prices for a awhile..

I did not write that down correctly. I mean you would not be able to afford those "internet minutes" because all you extra money will be used with the rate increase.
Big Refinery fire in the State of Washington today. I hope we don't see more price increases because of this. Story here.
I wouldn't be surfing the net on the cruise anyway, I can't afford the minutes and am too busy. I did take the laptop on the last cruise because I had an ongoing business situation to keep up with. I ended up not needing it. I did enter the raffle to win free minutes, but didn't win. I wish they would add at least 30 free minutes to the Platinum perks. Now that would be a great perk. I always give away the treats they leave in the cabin, and have rarely used the free laundry service.
