Trying to find out pros & cons as a 1st time cruiser on the carnival sensation. Trip earn at work and will be in category 11 vernada deck, demi suite. What about the location and motion? If anyone out there has been in these cabins on this ship would like info. Also what about boarding? We are driving to Tampa and will leave our van at the port. Someone was telling up that with this type of cabin you get something called a Skipper Pass which lets you board with out the waiting in lines.
Also just any info on what to do and what not to do.
Thanks

Sensation is still a good ship even though it has a little age on it now. As this is your first cruise, being in such a nice cabin will be an incredible experience for you as you can tell a big difference in cabin sizes. Make sure you take a shore excursion in Cozumel as they are really good there and don't miss swiming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman. Make sure you go to the shows on formal night and try to eat in the dining room most evenings. The experience can be lengthy at times, but worth it. New Orleans is amazing on its own and you'll have a few hours there to experience all the excitement. Try to have a meal in New Orleans. The Court of Two Sisters is a great big buffet lunch. Rib Room is a very beatiful and elegant dinner. Or my favorite, The Grill Room, which is the only 5 star restaurant in the South East. Ofcourse Pat O'Brian's for drinks. Boarding process can be yucky at times so arrive early then you can relax rather than wait in lines. Also, have a little patience and expect to wait. Have a great cruise.

Scott, you may have some motion in your cabin, as they are located on a high deck toward the bow. However, there are ways to deal with it - wristbands, Bonine, etc. - which are very effective. Keeping busy also helps, and you'll have plenty on Carnival to keep you occupied! Enjoy your balcony, but don't expect total privacy on it (word to the wise here!)
