Good news for Port of Galveston cruisers. The Carnival Ecstasy is currently undergoing a 28-day, multi-million-dollar dry dock that will include the addition of an expansive new water park, an exclusive adults-only retreat, a Circle “C” facility and a redesigned resort-style main pool area. In other words, she is being "Evolutionized".
They are also adding 98 balcony cabins which will be available for sailings starting October 17, 2009. The Carnival Ecstasy will be the second ship to receive additional balconies following the Carnival Sensation earlier this year.
Dwayne, thanks for the reminder (update) on the Ecstacy. I have been trying to talk the wife into going again (3rd on Ecstacy)...she says it is the same ship...but this will make it different. Looked at April '10, and the rates are still very good for Texas cruisers...glad I can drive there in about 7 hours.
Just hung up with a girlfriend from work....
Her husband in in drydock in Freeport with the Fascination which is getting a similar treatment

The Fascination was past due for a Dry dock. She was showing her age early last November. I'll be glad when all the Fantasy class ships get "evolutionized" completely. This should be a major renovation.
