Carnival mixes it up a bit. They will have cheap games where you buy $5 a card or a set of 3 for $10 but the prizes on these games are of course smaller. The normal bingo games are $20 for a set of three cards.
They have a LOT of bingo games on CCL. They play bingo before every show it seems. So while the cost is less you can still end up spending a lot on bingo.

Yes indeed lots of Bingo on Carnival and Jim has quoted the right prices as I remember them. But really what is in the balance is what gets paid out in relation to what you pay for the card, and how many people play at at time. The largest game on carnival is a coverall with a powerball, will potentialy pay out $5,000 on a $20 card. What are the payouts on RCL? I still wonder how many people play per game and even my crew contacts either don't know or won't tell me. The most I get on this inside info is they make LOTS of money on Bingo.
I did the math in my head one time. I figured there were probably 250 to 300 cards sold for the powerball bingo at $20 a card. MOST of the time the bingo is not paid out on the powerball where you could win the $5000 so they only pay about some fraction of the take, but I bet they pull in $1000 to $2000 profit on that one game. Yes, they make a LOT of money on the bingo. They also sell scratch off lottery cards for a buck each too. They probably make more off of those since they don't pay out based on what was bought.
CruiseDad- You need to go delete your ticker from your profile... you've gone Negative man!

On a Carnival Pride cruise in 2002 I ran into a co-worker on the first night. We had no idea either was on the cruise until I literally bumped into him while rounding a corner.
So I'm sitting in the theater playing the "free cruise" bingo game. I hear "Bingo!" from the balcony. I look up, and there is the winner...my co-worker. He used it for a 7 night southern Caribbean.
I've only played bingo once on a ship, and I don't recall the game price. I used to play weekly here at home with a group of work friends. Of course, I spent my time talking and didn't keep up. I had won and didn't even know it until someone noticed. I didn't know what a hat-pin was.
CruiseDad probably knows this from his daughter, they have crew bingo too. I gave my bartender money for his tickets once.
A cruise I went on in 2003 with my parents had bingo every day that we had a "Fun Day At Sea". I dont recall the price, but I do remember that the first day we played my dad won the big pot. The second day we played, my mom won the big pot! I was so hopeful that on the third day I would win!! This was not so! haha However, during the Bingo game they had pull-tabs/"lotto" tickets that you could play and if you lost you could put your name on the back and they would have a "Losers Drawing"! I DID win this!!! YAY for me!!! The t-shirt was too big though, so I gave it to another "loser"! Us "losers" have to stick together you know!!! Good luck with the BINGO!!!
