adjoining rooms

we just booked adjoining rooms (we did not request adjoining rooms, it just worked out that way)but I was reading on line that you only get a chair instead of a small sofa because of the door and that you can hear conversations and noise between rooms. does anyone have any input to the adjoining rooms. We are traveling with friends

That's a little odd. They usually save the adjoining cabins for those that request them, I thought anyway. I've never had one, but I have read a few posts about being able to hear some through them. The walls are pretty thin anyway, so I don't know if it would be a big difference.

What ship and cabins are they? They can always change them to just side by side cabins without the door if they are available.

Not at all true.... We also has adjoining room last month, it was awesome, both rooms had full sofa, lots of room, and you could close the door for parent privacy, and not hear noise

Now that I know the ship, I can agree with Bem1962 about the sofas.

Some ships have cabins that connect and don't have sofas.

We had a cabin that was an adjoining on Conquest. We had plenty of room and still had the sofa. The door was at the foot of one of the beds right at the end of the "dressing" table/wall unit with the safe. We didn't hear anything from the other cabin.

Looks like a great cabin location to me. Both cabins also have extended balconies. They can also remove the balcony partition if you want.

Oh, yes for certain both cabins have a sofa and coffee table.
